Today we have the pleasure of interviewing our friend Jesús María Pablo, better known in the world of flamenco music as “El Killo”, his musical career in Spain is very rich and varied.

In his long years of experience, he has shared the stage with groups of great renown in the flamenco music environment, such as: Emilio Millan, Marismeño, Rafa Campos, Susana Moreno among many others, now based in Bulgaria: he is the percussionist leader of group; IRE VAZQUEZ & HER LATIN BAND.

In addition to constantly performing percussion courses in prominent places in Bulgaria including the Instituto Cervantes, being also Endorser of La Rosa Percusion, Caña percussion, Brilliant sounds Experts and Djoliba Percussions.

What is your job?

I am a professional percussionist, besides a percussion teacher from Flamenco and Latina styles

Why and when did you come to Bulgaria?

I came as a musician, in 2014

What do you like about your country?

In my country, I like art, joy and especially the character of people, since I come from Andalusia, where we are very sharing and making friends.

What differences do you see in your country and Bulgaria?

In Bulgaria, I am impressed by the lack of positivism of people when facing problems, and the weather, due to the cold winters of Sofia.

What do you like about Bulgaria?

I like the country, in general, its nature and landscapes, as well as the Bulgarians joy they have for Latin music and for the Flamenco culture.

What procedure / document was the most difficult when you arrived in Bulgaria?

The truth is that all of them, even after 4 years I still have some problems with it

Mention an important experience you’ve had in Bulgaria

Being able to represent Spain, my country in the International Contest of Foreign Languages, as the Spanish percussionist has been very rewarding, here I also knew the love of my life and the fruit of this love, today I have a daughter who was born in Bulgaria.

Do you speak other languages?

Yes, I speak English, and also Bulgarian.

have you visited other countries?

Yes, Spain, Venezuela, Portugal just to name a few.

What advice would you give to other people who would like to come to Bulgaria?

That they try  learning the basics of the language, that they come with a positive mind and with patience!
