Last month was released by Eurostat the numbers about tourism in the EU, we analyzed the numbers and find some interesting relations, the data of Bulgaria is from 2016.
Almost 75% of the tourist trip made by Bulgarians were between Bulgaria, spending an average of 37 euro/day and taking an average 4 days trip when going outside Bulgaria the first choice is Greece, second the United Kingdom and third Turkey.
70% of Bulgarians don’t take tourist trips, been the main reason in 50% of the cases their financial limitations.
On the other side, top foreign tourist that visited Bulgaria were, from Germany, Russia and Romania.

Data from National Statistical Institute (NSI) from a press release in July 2018, says about the Tourist industry situation so far this year. A total of 582,000 tourists stayed in accommodation facilities in Bulgaria in May, up 28.7% year-on-year. The number of Bulgarian tourists increased 4.6% on the year, while the number of foreign visitors grew by 28.7%.!
