Today we want to share with all of you the interesting story of our friend Chef Normen Wolf, who is originally from Leipzig in Germany, but move to Asenovgrad already 10 years ago.

Name and nationality:

My name is Normen Wolf, and I’m German.

Tell us a bit about you and what you do

I’m a Private Chef, and for 24 years I am Chef. I was cooking in Michelin Stars Restaurants, 5 Star Hotels, and also on Boutique Cruise Ships.

Why and when did you come to Bulgaria?

I came 2010 to Bulgaria because of the nice nature and products for cooking here

What do you like about Germany?

The Sausages, the Nature, and the Beer tradition

What are some differences between your country and Bulgaria?


The people are warmer and friendlier here in Bulgaria. Here in Bulgaria, you have everything very close, from the mountains to the see it’s just 4 hours,

I live in Asenovgrad and in a few hours, I am from the mountains to the sea. Another difference is that in Germany we don’t have so much garbage in our nature, I would like to change this. Don’t throw your garbage in nature!!

What do you like about Bulgaria?


Basically the nature, the sea, and the mountains.

What was the most difficult bureaucratic procedure you have undergone so far in Bulgaria?

Ordering my German passport

Stop the corruption

What languages do you speak other than your German?

Yes I speak almost perfect Bulgarian, Spanish, English, French

France, Portugal, Spain, Italy, the Caribbean, Russia, Poland, Czech Republic.

How is your business going?

Very good, People like my cooking

What advice would you give to other people who would like to come to live in Bulgaria?

Be passionate, don’t throw garbage in nature !!
